Pramanik Containers And The Bottleneck Free Essays

Printing plates were hard to locate when required for repeat orders which lead to constant delay in start of work. Shank and his crew often had to work overtime to complete the orders due to mismanagement of plates. Biennials is not ready to spend any money to upgrade the system but puppyish wants to improve the storage of plates. We will write a custom essay sample on Pramanik Containers And The Bottleneck or any similar topic only for you Order Now He should look to outsource storage and delivery of plates to external firm and introduce ERP technology for the same. WORD COUNT: 120 SITUATIONAL ANALYSIS Paranoia containers Pat Ltd, established in 1977 was a family based business owned by Biennials Meta in Iambi. They used to manufacture customized aerosol containers and was the sole supplier of cans to BBC Pharmacy, a large NC since 1977. An informal meeting between Biennials Meta and Moan Sings, purchasing director of BBC Company had initiated the business partnership and within a year’s time Paranoia supplied aerosol cans to BBC Pharmacy. Paranoia had created a value on its own through product quality and fast service. Many new customers tied up with Paranoia because of its ever spreading capability and quality service (for which they were known) which resulted into an annual sales of about RSI 315 million by 009. Biennials was also interested in bidding for new business and supply aerosol cans to Radiant healthcare who were entering Indian market to sell deodorants. Paranoia used to manufacture aerosol cans according to specific customer requirements biz. Size, shape, diameter of cans. These requirements were met by installation of 4 high speed automatic fabrication machines which operated at a rate of 25 cans per minute. The printing department had to decorate cans according to customers specifications and this required a high-capacity machine which could print 300 parts per minute. By 2010, Puppyish Meta son of Biennials Meta Joined his family business after completing his family managed business (FM) program. On his first day in the company he walked into the printing area and saw Shank, the head printer sleeping on the Job and also observed that operation management in printing department was in total mess. Printing plates required for printing process were hardly found in time resulting in delay of entire process. Upon enquiring from Rakes the Accounts Assistant of the company he got to know that plates used for new orders were kept in storeroom after use to be subsequently used in repeat orders. But there was no proper mechanism in place for arrangement of plates so they could not be located easily. So to compensate the time lost in finding the plates employees often worked overweight to complete the order. It resulted in extra costs as workers were paid overtime wages and new plates were made only in emergency orders in case old ones were not found. Paranoia received about 60 orders per day and manufactured 30,000 cans per day. It had produced nearly 30,000 designs during last 15 years. Plates of all these customers were maintained for use in case of new order. Maintaining accounts of such vast data required meticulous work. But Shank insisted that they should hire another person to maintain the registers as he was already busy running the machine but this was not acceptable to Biennials. Puppyish decided to deal with the problems and discuss the same with his father. Puppyish wanted to restructure the storage operations of plates in his company, but further investment is not acceptable to his father. So Puppyish has to come up with a concrete plan whether he should introduce technology for data maintenance of printing plates, reduce the extra costs which are paid for working overtime or he would hire extra employees to maintain the registers of plates. PROBLEM STATEMENT Improper management of print plates records leading to unnecessary load on the employees of printing department resulting to the low efficiency and extra costs. Biennials was not ready to make any investments in upgrading the present system. OBJECTIVES: 1 . To improve operation and time managing department of printing division with minimum extra cost. 2. To store and locate printing plates in an efficient manner. 3. To introduce technology for maintaining data of printing plates and customers orders. 4. To reduce excessive work load on employees. OPTIONS: 1. Buy a new warehouse or rent it to store printing plates. 2. To introduce technology like ERP system to maintain computerized data of printing plates. 3. Hire extra people to specifically maintain printing plates registers. 4. Outsourcing the work to some company so they can maintain data storage of printing plates properly. EVALUATION OF OPTIONS: OPTIONS o c s 1. Buying a new warehouse will require lot of investments initially as well further operations costs for running the facility as well buy new equipments. It would be beneficial for proper maintenance of plates, cost incurred would hinder its implementation. Introducing ERP system will professionalism the system. It would store information of each and every plate and employees will be able to prepare printing plates whenever customers place their orders. But it will require huge setup cost and they will have to hire employees and train them. 3. Hiring employees for maintaining record of plates will be a better option keeping cos t factor in mind. Although it will lead to extra costs but it will be negligible as they were paying Shank and his crew overtime wages. Also it will reduce unnecessary load of current employees and they will be able concentrate properly on their work. But for maintaining huge amount of data, use of technology is advisable. 4. Outsourcing maintenance of printing plates to external firm will help Paranoia to focus on its core service of manufacturing and supplying aerosol cans which they are known for. Printing plates can be made depending on customers order and the outsourcing firm can maintain the data according to that. This will help employees of printing department to focus on decorations of cans and need not worry about locating plates for every order. But this implementation requires investment and he will have to convince his father who is not willing to spend any money. RECOMMENDATION: Puppyish should try to negotiate with his father and convince him to invest money in outsourcing firm and to reduce constant bottleneck in printing department. Although hiring new employees will avoid extra costs but recommendation would be to outsource the work to the external firm. As Paranoia is well known aerosol manufacturer company, they should focus on its better quality service and fast service and let the external firm take care of the records of printing plates. This will reduce load from Shank as well as his crews shoulders and they will be able to work efficiently on printing machines. CONNECTIONAL: Puppyish has to come up with a concrete plan and convince his father and take him into confidence to invest the money into the outsourcing firm by showing him that they are already spending extra cost due to mismanagement of printing plates so they can cut down on the unnecessary spending which is affecting the company and customers not receiving their delivery orders completely due to orders becoming an emergency order. To implement the idea of outsourcing firm Puppyish should ask his team to float tenders to invite firms interested in storing and delivering printing late. CONTINGENCY PLAN: Puppyish should implement ERP technology in the firm as the data storage of the printing plates will be computerized. It will equip the company and it would help him as the company looks to expand the business in the future. Police Brutality Essay Essay Essay Example

Police Brutality Essay Essay Essay Introduction: Surveies has shown that constabulary are more likely to mistreat inkinesss instead than Whites and this is caused by racial profiling. But through the history of constabulary ferociousness. constabulary ferociousness was foremost used after a constabulary officer was described crushing a civilian in 1633. Police ferociousness is the maltreatment of force and it is normally through physical. But there are other ways to mistreat which are verbally and sometimes psychologically and this is done by a federal or province governments which are the constabulary officers. The history of constabulary ferociousness has been a rhythm and the phrases are really force. corruptness and better on what is incorrect. These has been a rhythm for many old ages through constabulary ferociousness. Police ferociousness exists in many states and non merely in the US. African American are ever targeted as â€Å"bad† people and this besides proves that there are inequality within the black community a nd the universe. There are besides certain misconducted signifiers of ferociousness but some of these are truly common in our society which are racial profiling. corruptness. false apprehension and infixing fright into civilians. We will write a custom essay sample on Police Brutality Essay Essay specifically for you for only $16.38 $13.9/page Order now We will write a custom essay sample on Police Brutality Essay Essay specifically for you FOR ONLY $16.38 $13.9/page Hire Writer We will write a custom essay sample on Police Brutality Essay Essay specifically for you FOR ONLY $16.38 $13.9/page Hire Writer There are many other instances that were really targeted chiefly on inkinesss and this causes unjust justness. Police’s docket is to fundamentally contend and protect civilians every bit good as being the peace keepers and neer being the 1 that harm any civilians without proper blessing or warrant to an apprehension or to an even greater extend which is physically. verbally or psychologically harming the opposed civilian on the error he/she has done. Polices are the 1s that set an image towards the society so that people can really follow them and believe they are making the right thing. nevertheless it is a truly distressing affair cognizing that constabulary does racial profiling particularly compared to Whites and inkinesss. And hence. this research paper is about constabulary will most probably be more important to inkinesss compare to Whites and this is known as racial profiling. Police ferociousness and racism in the United states Police ferociousness and racism has played a large function in degrading the safeness of US every bit good as degrading the repute of the governments through these jobs. there are significantly immense sum of statistics studies on constabularies ferociousness. Even though these instances are brought up to tribunal. out of 5986 studies merely 33 % went through strong belief and 64 % received prison sentences. American constabulary officers have used deadly arms to kill more than terrorist did since the Vietnam War. And at least one time a twelvemonth. there is ever a individual beaten by a Police Officer. And this is ever shown as abusive of authorization. Although perpetrating a offense is illegal. constabularies have no rights to mistreat their rights through physical or verbal actions. Although physical maltreatment brings physical hurting and such but verbal maltreatment has really proved that it would be more harmful to that victim. As in one of the instances. a police officer re ally insulted the victim till the victim killed himself out of choler. Wordss can really intend a batch towards a human being and constabularies officers think that they won’t be charged with any discourtesy through dissing verbally alternatively of physical maltreatment can really do job towards these constabulary officers. Harmonizing to a research. every twelvemonth about 261 constabularies officers are involved with constabularies ferociousness and merely approximately 27 per centum of these victims are involved in jurisprudence suits. In many instances. bulk of these victims are really African Americans that were abused by the jurisprudence that are supposed to protect them. And the research besides shows that there is a consequence of 382 deceases out of 5986 studies. Other than the statistics. there is besides a few groups of people which are aged. drug nuts. female and weak people. Police would take advantage of this to brutalise them while infixing fright in them through endangering for an illustration. constabulary officers might endanger them about their household members and if they were to describe anything the constabulary officer would collar or handle their household members the same manner they were being treated and this would decidedly infix fright into the victims. That is why some instances were reported as bogus issues because victims themselves do non desire to acknowledge the truth being worried of being physically or verbally abused once more. Overall. if a constabulary officer was found mistreating a victim. their rights as a constabulary would likely be revoked and merely prison sentence up to 14 months averagely and this is unjust to all the other offense wrongdoers every bit good as the victims because 14 months is a truly short clip which these victims might be abused one time once more when these constabulary officers are discharged from their responsibility and/or the prison. Racial profiling in the US among police officers There are a batch of known instances of constabulary ferociousness particularly on inkinesss on racial profiling. But harmonizing to an article in 2012. a black individual is killed by a security officer every 28 hours. As it was besides stated in this article. that African-Americans are about 13. 1 % of the state population but it has about covered 40 % of the prison’s population. Besides. inkinesss sometimes do sell drugs and is the same as white but they have a higher per centum of acquiring arrested for drugs than Whites and this is racial profiling. Black wrongdoers besides decidedly receive a longer sentence comparison to white wrongdoers. Other than that. most of the inkinesss killed were unarmed. which harmonizing to the study. 44 % of inkinesss was killed even though there was no mark of arm. 27 % deceases are claimed that the suspect had a gun but there was no prove to this. 2 % had little arms such as knifes. large scissors and cutters or any other similar arms. and merely approximately 20 % had guns or deathly arms. Most officers that killed inkinesss claim that they were afraid and they were seeking to protect themselves so they have been force to open fire. These constabulary officers open fire if they feel like they are being threaten. for an illustration. the fishy running off from the bulls. driving towards to bulls or acquiring something from their waist. Police officers do non reason if the suspect does hold a arm or non and yet merely utilize lifelessly force to work out the issue. In one of the known instances of an African American acquiring shot by a police officer. the fishy name is Oscar Grant 22 twelvemonth old. and was shot by Johannes Mehserle a constabulary officer. The constabulary officer claimed that Grant had a gun even though Grant was subdued by other officers which is non justified because Oscar Grant was already being subdued by other officers and yet Johannes Mehserle still fired his arm at Oscar Grant. A few other illustrations of African American being assaulted without justified grounds are Rodney King. Sean Bell. and many other more. Rodney King was drunk on that dark on March 2. 1991. He was rushing on the expressway and that was when the constabulary officers attempted to draw him over. but Rodney King resisted. Once they manage to acquire Rodney King out of the vehicle. a group of officers tried to repress Rodney King and used taser every bit good. Rodney King was kicked at the caput and besides was beaten with truncheons. But lucky plenty. King’s injuries wasn’t truly serious but it left him with a twosome of contusions and besides a facial fractured bone. Sean Bell was killed by a constabulary undercover squad which fired 50 times at the auto Bell and his friends were siting in. it happened outside a strip nine because he was holding his bachelor’s party on that dark. A police officer really overheard that the friend speaking about acquiring his gun. so in order to forestall the shot from go oning. the constabulary officers opened fired at the auto. And that was when Sean Bell passed off instantly on the scene. The investigators were non charged guilty of manslaughter on that dark. And these are some of the instances African American’s are really confronting and this is why US should implement a heavier regulation on racial profiling. Actions of constabulary ferociousness on selected victims through racial profiling The actions that were used on inkinesss were more important comparison to Whites such as verbal persuasion. unarmed physical force. force utilizing non-lethal arms. force utilizing impact arms and lifelessly force. There was a instance which verbal persuasion really lead the victim to perpetrating suicide out of choler that has stated and it was cause by a constabulary. these African Americans were frequently called monikers like â€Å"nigger† . â€Å"negro† and many other monikers. This can do an impact on how they feel. it will neer be shown through physical but ever inside them. That is why verbal persuasion is truly negative towards a victim. Unarmed physical force can do external harm but really. besides internal because you would experience the depression on African American are seen as a minority and they know that their race will be discriminated against. As seen in some instances. African American was treated more crucially than Whites. in one of the instance. the black refused to travel into the officer’s lunchroom and the following thing he knows is his caput nailing through a home base glass window. If it was a white. it is truly obvious that the constabulary would let him to remain outside the lunchroom and delay for other processs. Non-lethal arms that were used on inkinesss are more important. inkinesss were Taser multiple times which causes a great hurting to them and in one of the instances late. the victim was Taser to decease. Force utilizing impact arms has besides been an issue towards African American. in Walmart US. an African American went to pick up a BB rifle and he was merely beckoning the gun about. after that the constabulary came and inquire him to demilitarize the gun as non cognizing that was merely a BB rifle. Regardless. the dissension from the constabulary. the constabulary shouldn’t have fired a fatal shooting on the victim and why is the victim shooting keeping a BB gun in a BB gun shop. Decision In decision. the research has shown that constabulary are more likely to be important towards inkinesss instead than Whites and this is caused by racial profiling. As from the research above. we can reason that constabulary has been important towards African American. But we should besides better the systems that US is utilizing which is really people’s head set. A simple thing can go a great job. particularly in racism constabulary should non be bias about a offense which is done by a certain race but seting all the races together as one. Police’s occupation description is to contend justness and convey peace to civils and non being the one interrupting the jurisprudence. It will neer be a good image towards civils. Solutions can be implemented through federal governments. by guaranting that maltreatments such as anguish. inordinate sum of force will non go on and these officers that had broken the jurisprudence should be accounted for and be brought to justness. Like some of the instances. the jury would state that the constabulary is at his/her rights and merely hold a prison sentence up to 14 months mean. This encourages constabularies to non be afraid because it would merely be a short clip for sentence and be make bolding to make what is right. This would besides act upon the new constabulary campaigners that assailing would non acquire them into a truly large job. The federal governments should besides implement solutions such as entering the actions a constabulary officer used through a camera or being supervised by the squad leader. Street cameras are truly of import for this affair which they can ever mention back to the scene and watch how the victim was treated by constabulary officers and this would decidedly do US a better topographic point alternatively of know aparting the minorities which is the African American but these solution applies to all the races but specifically for African American in order for them to be able to populate every bit like all the other races without any misjudgment or favoritism through racial profiling. NASAs Trip to Pluto essays

NASA's Trip to Pluto essays In January of 2006, an Atlas 5 rocket will be launched in order to look at Pluto and its moon Charon. The mission is called New Horizons. The model 551 Lockheed Martin-built Atlas 5 will have five strap-on solid rocket boosters, a single engine Centaur upper stage and the larger five-meter-diameter fairing. It will not reach its destination until 2015. It will be the first exploration of the third zone of the solar system. NASA is racing to gather data and pictures about this region of the solar system before the planet's atmosphere freezes out for two centuries from Pluto moving further from the Sun. There is very little solar energy that lands on Pluto and it has been impossible to get clear shots of the planet with the most powerful telescopes. There is very little known about the planet. Pluto's atmosphere is an enigma, its surface vaguely understood. Astronomers don't know how or under what circumstances Pluto formed. During this mission, a large interest is research of the Kuiper Belt. NASA would also like to gain further understanding of whether Pluto is a Kuiper Belt Object KBO or Planet and research what properties it atmosphere has. They will also research Pluto's other moons and why they might exist. They will study the global geology and morphology, map the surface composition, and characterize the atmosphere of Pluto and its escape rate. They will also studying time variability of Pluto's surface and atmosphere, imaging and mapping areas of Pluto and Charon at high-resolution, characterizing Pluto's upper atmosphere, ionosphere, and energetic particle environment, search for an atmosphere around Charon, refine bulk parameters of Pluto and Charon (such as mass and diameter), search for additional satellites and rings, and characterize one or more KBO's. The general population is also excited about the prospect of finally having a clear picture of the planet that is sometimes the most dista nt and some...

HW Math Problem Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words

HW - Math Problem Example b. 1. What is the estimated adjusted mean difference in hourly wages for females as compared to males, adjusting for age, union membership, and job type? When age, Union Membership and type of job were taken into consideration, it was found that women earned approximately 1.9 dollars lesser per hour then men did in 1985. 2. Report a 95% confidence interval for this difference. The 95% CI for this difference ranges from -2.76 to -1.04. 3. Write a sentence interpreting both the adjusted mean difference and the corresponding confidence interval. When considering other variables like age, union membership and job type, women in 1985 earned approximately 1.9 dollars less than the men did; and 95% of the times, the actual values for this estimate would fall between 2.76 dollars to 1.04 dollars less then what the men earned on an average. 2. Comment on any disparities in the estimated mean difference in hourly wages between males and females in the four models whose results are listed above . Does it appear from these results that the wage/gender relationship in confounded by other worker characteristics such as worker age, membership in a union, and job type? Why or why not? Across the four models; it is evident that woman did earn lesser than men did per hour in 1985. This effect was seen regardless of the variables included in the study. Adjusting for age increased the discrepancy slightly; while adjusting for job type and union membership in addition to age decreased the discrepancy between the average wages of men and woman slightly. In spite of this, it is difficult to say that these variables play a very significant role; since the differences seen were quite small; and the confidence intervals for the four models overlapped quite a lot. It may be said that variable like age, union membership and job type did affect the discrepancy in the average wages of men and women; but this effect was quite small. 3. Use the results from Model D to estimate the mean differe nce in hourly wages for females, age 42, who are union members with manufacturing jobs, as compared to 42-year male union members with manufacturing jobs. (Note that you have already done this in a previous portion of the problem – I am just trying to â€Å"drill into you† how to interpret multiple linear regression coefficients.) After controlling for Union membership, type of job and age, it was found that women earned on an average, 1.9 dollars less than men in 1985. 4. 1. Does the given information allow you to assess whether the relationship between hourly wages and sex is modified by age? By itself, the data available is not enough to assess if the relationship between hourly wages and sex is modified by age. 2. If not, what additional results would you need to see? We would need information on the significance testing of the F values for the regression analyses in order to estimate whether age does truly affect the relationship between hourly wages and sex; or w hether the observed effect is simply a function of the sampled data. 2. Question two a) 1. What is the estimated adjusted association between Diastolic Blood Pressure (DBP) and

The Cultural Impact of the Yan'an Talks on Chinese Film Assignment

The Cultural Impact of the Yan'an Talks on Chinese Film - Assignment Example When he came into power, he made this belief known to the people in his 1942 speech, popularly known as the Yan’an Talks on Literature and Art. The primary purpose of the Yan’an Talks was to lay out the guidelines for literature and art in Communist China. The Talks detailed what kind of subject matter was acceptable to produce, the themes that should be discussed, and the target audience to be reached. In Chairman Mao’s words, â€Å"through the creative labour of revolutionary writers and artists, the raw materials found in the life of the people are shaped into the ideological form of literature and art serving the masses of the people† (â€Å"Talks†). The ideas outlined in the Yan’an Talks heavily influenced all forms of literature and art that emerged from China from the 1940s onwards, as evidenced by three notable Chinese films: Red Sorghum, Farewell My Concubine, and To Live. Red Sorghum, which was released in 1987 by Xi’an Film Studio, is a story that takes place in Shandong, China during World War II. It is about the life and death of a widowed sorghum distillery owner named Jiu’er. ... After some time, Li Datou dies under suspicious circumstances, and Jiu’er inherits ownership of the distillery. She is reunited with her rescuer, who has become an alcoholic whose drunkenness causes him to commit shameful acts like urinating in the sorghum wine. The story of Red Sorghum takes a darker turn at this point, with Japanese Imperial troops arriving and taking over the town. They commit various heinous acts of violence, at one point forcing one of the villagers to skin someone else alive. Angered, the people of the village revolt by attempting an ambush, during which many people, among them Jiu’er, are killed. The film makes use of bright, vivid, and detailed imagery, particularly in the violent scenes, to bring home the themes of revolution and resistance to foreign power. The Imperial Japanese troops – whom Mao named as the enemy in the Yan’an Talks – are depicted as heartless and brutal, and in the end unable to defeat the strong resist ance spirit of the villagers. The movie was also filmed with a technique that gave the entire movie a reddish tint, symbolizing both the death and violence wrought by the Japanese as well as the crimson colour of the sorghum fields which at the end of the movie are slowly growing again. Farewell My Concubine is a 1993 epic-length film that tells the story of a fifty-year friendship between two orphan boys, Douzi and Shitou, as they rise to acclaim as actors in China’s Peking Opera during the time from World War II all the way to communist China’s Cultural Revolution. Douzi is trained into female roles and assumes the stage name Cheng Dieyi, while Shitou assumes masculine roles under the name Duan Xiaolou. Eventually Dieyi’s roles translate into real life
